OA/CTS Counselor – Outreach Admissions Career Transitional Services Counselor--$500 Sign-on bonus! Spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associate’s degree and two years’ related experience in admissions and or youth programs. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct screening and recruitment of potential students for enrollment in Job Corps, in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Provide students with transitional support and placement services leading to quality full-time jobs, military enlistment, enrollment in higher education or Job Corps advanced training upon leaving the Job Corps Program.
  • Identify and develop Center-beneficial partnerships that lead to enrollment and/or student placement while creating networks and outreach activities with youth development, one-stop-shop and public service agencies, churches and community organizations, schools and individuals who might refer eligible candidates to the Job Corps program.
  • Works cooperatively with Career Technical Training and Career Transition Readiness staff to provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
  • Prepare necessary and required reports related to the outreach activities. Maintain monthly goals established by the Policy Requirement Handbook (PRH) and management.
  • Oversees, develops, monitors, and updates student transition plans to ensure successful outcome.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Introduce labor market information to help with the career transition period, process and analyze career paths in local labor market and participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
