MedStar Health currently has an opening for a daytime advanced practice clinician at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in the field of hospital medicine, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily hospital rounds, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with consultants, and discharge planning.

The clinician facilitates coordination and development of a comprehensive and individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and multidisciplinary team. Other responsibilities include:

• Writing prescription orders, medications, and controlled substances according to D.C. and federal rules, regulations, and law.
• Coordinating family education with nursing staff, ancillary staff, and other resources.
• Maintaining daily caseload of up to 14 hospital inpatients.
• Contributing to the achievement of department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards.
• Complying with government and accreditation regulations.
