We are looking for an Asphalt Laborer | Distributor Truck Driver to join the existing Asphalt/Heavy Highway Operations Team.

** The shift is primarily daytime work (for the most part) with a typical schedule being in the Monday-Saturday: 7am-6pm timeframe.

** The work will be regional – typically within a (1) hour radius of the city listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects
• Driving the liquid Asphalt Tack distributor truck
• Shoveling material out to the end gate
• Sweeping and raking the deck
• Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the paver
• Operating a variety of hand and power tools
• Transporting rakes, shovels, and spray cans to the paver
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Perform material handling and storage
• Control traffic at worksites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and training
• Ensure proper safety and notify Foreman, Safety Director or HR of any issues
• Other duties as assigned by foreman/leadman/management; duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works in extreme conditions near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, dust, electrical/gas hazards and blood borne pathogens.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum Class B CDL with Hazmat. A Class A CDL is preferred/a strong plus.
• Must have, or be able to learn, basic knowledge of proper operating procedures of multiple types of equipment.
• Must be capable of operating the assigned machine and any other related equipment in a safe manner must be able to do a competent inspection of the equipment.
• Must be able to apply and retain information provided in crew meetings.
• Must be able to understand directions/instructions on methods/process to do work.
• Must be able to maintain high level of awareness for a busy project work environment.
