About Baytown

With a population of more than 77,000, Baytown, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, just east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Founded in 1919, ExxonMobil's Baytown Complex is located on approximately 3,400 acres along the Houston Ship Channel, about 25 miles east of Houston. Employing a workforce of more than 8,500, it is comprised of four manufacturing sites, including one in nearby Mont Belvieu, and a global technology center. These include the Baytown Refinery, one of the largest refineries in the United States, and the Baytown Olefins Plant, one of the largest ethylene plants in the world.

Its scope of products includes fuels, lube oils, and chemical compounds used in a diverse range of products, from auto battery cases, diapers and tire inner tubes to pharmaceutical uses, food packaging, trash bags and more.

The Baytown area sites are highly integrated, which makes the plants and products more efficient as we develop technologies to make cleaner fuels and work together to operate more safely and reliably.

What role you will play in our team

Rail Coordination Supervisor is a position within the Area Rail Management (ARM) organization which is part of the Rail Planning & Operations (RPO) in EMCC HQ. The organization will provide tactical execution of rail shipment coordination, support and tracking activities for all BT EM sites working with the sites, supply chain and the major railroads.

What you will do

Responsible for the overall coordination of the rail logistics for all EM Baytown area plants. Provides functional guidance for all the Rail Coordinators in ARM and interfaces with units, railroads, ARM Planner, HQ Rail Planning & Operations (RPO) and supply chain.

• 
  Day-to-day interactions and work management for Rail Coordinators (8 Contractors)
• Rail scheduling and billing
• Inbound / Outbound loads and empties
• Car inventories and counts
• Shipment data tracking
• Rail performance stewardship and metrics
• Rail data systems utilization (Yardmaster and Railtrac)
• Non-routine and service issues
• Railroad interface, service improvement and relations
• DOT & FRA and other regulatory compliance
• Ameriport storage yard interface
• Primary site contact for Rail Operations during crisis events (i.e. Hurricanes)
• Networking and interactions with other ARM organizations
• Support daily operations as needed
• Rail service planning (holidays, etc.)

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• 
  B.S. or B.A. degree or minimum 10 years work experience in rail logistics required
• Engineering degree is preferred

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• 
  Rail logistics experience preferred
• Ability to manage and contribute to the effective/efficient rail logistics and service to the local plants and BUs
• Ability to drive functional excellence through a willingness to aggressively pursue new and creative approaches to resolve problems
• Demonstrated sound business judgment, decision-making skills, planning, coordination and analytical skills
• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership skills and ability to create ownership and commitment to the organization's purpose

• Ability to promote strong working relationships with plants, supply chain, suppliers and the railroads
