Job Description
Overview
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and planning of therapeutic and recreational activities for the participants of the program. The Activity Coordinator will possess good organizational skills and function well in a team environment. He/she will only act within the scope of practice of his or her authority to practice. He/she will meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position established by Centra PACE and approved by CMS before working independently.
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent AND Meet one of the following: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, OR 2. Be a qualified activities professional from a recognized accrediting body - National Council for Certification Activity Professionals (NCCAP), OR 3. Be a qualified occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant. 4. One year work experience within the last 5 years in an activity program in an adult care setting.

Required Experience:
Preferred Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services to a frail or elderly population within the past five years, one of which was full time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting.
Required Certification & Licensures: Licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, if applicable. (#3 above)Certified Activities Profession from NCCAP, if applicable (#2 above)Valid Driver's license
