Data Entry Job Description
The Data Entry Operator will have a medical background, code information, troubleshoot processing errors, and achieve the organization's goals by completing the necessary tasks. They will also be responsible for complying with data integrity and security policies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Enter data for abstracted medical and laboratory information from data collection and reporting forms.
· Organize files and enter collected data into the database. Database is housed in a secure web application.
· Establish data entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first per standard operating procedures with the CDC.
· Maintain the physical records of each case and ensure files are organized and secured.
· Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry.
· Alert appropriate team members regarding incomplete information.
· Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output.
· Report challenges and needs to Team Leader and work with team members to resolve issues.
· Generate reports. Store completed work in designated locations and perform backup operations.
· Scan documents and print files, when needed.
· Keep information confidential.
· Check completed work for accuracy and make any required changes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
