The Director of Learning & Development is responsible for developing and implementing learning strategies and programs for both Dave and Buster's and Main Event Entertainment to improve performance, provide development opportunities, and drive business results. This position will partner with the field HRBP and Talent teams to assess and diagnose organizational and Team Member (hourly, management) developmental needs to drive training solutions, and identify and coordinate scalable training solutions.

THE ROLE

• Serves as a member of the field HR Leadership Team and works collaboratively to achieve the HR strategic plan and priorities
• Effectively coaches, develops and engages direct report team
• Acts as a trusted advisor to the field generalist teams, consultatively serving as their learning and development expert and helping to ensure they accomplish their goals
• Partners with the talent team to coordinate and track new Leaders in Training
• Conducts quarterly and annual needs assessments to remain organized and proactively plan to support identified deliverables
• Develops and implements effective programs and learning solutions to achieve identified performance outcomes
• Utilizes instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory to develop learning solutions e.g., learning objectives, content sequence, and evaluation methods to achieve performance outcomes
• Successfully partners with cross-functional teams to develop the learning strategies and solutions necessary to support enterprise initiatives
• Effectively manages the LMS including the continuous improvement of the system, the reporting function, troubleshooting, assigning of programs, and enhanced user engagement
• Manages the L&D function as it relates to supporting new store openings i.e., providing support materials and continually improving the training process
• Measures and reports on the effectiveness of L&D solutions to determine impact and potential need for program revisions
• Develops and maintains the L&D department's budget
• Ensures effective vendor selection and management

THE SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in relevant field, e.g. HR, business, etc.

• 7+ years of L&D experience
• 5+ years of content and curriculum development
• Restaurant or retail company L&D experience a plus
• Excellent consultative skills and problem-solving capability
• Highly service oriented; has a can-do spirit; known for going above and beyond
• High degree of leadership agility; able to handle ambiguity
• Seeks developmental feedback and integrates it
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects to completion in a timely and accurate manner
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Proficiency with Articulate 360
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with LMS management

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Non-traditional office work environment. We have games in the lobby, a billiard table in the break room, and we get everyone together for “Parties on the Patio” where we relax and catch up over ice cold “refreshments”.
