Under the direction of the Content Manager, the Digital Assets Clearance Specialist will act as the point person for clearing archival and multimedia assets for the Multimedia Textbook on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, a project of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center.

The Multimedia Textbook brings together distinguished scholarship, open access technology, and ethnic studies pedagogy to deepen public knowledge about Asian American and Pacific Islander histories. This resource is geared toward students and instructors in 9th-14th grade classrooms.

The Digital Assets Clearance Specialist will research, track, and clear digital assets for our multimedia textbook project from initial research stages all the way through clearance. Applicants must have experience with research, archival pulls, clearing multimedia materials, fair use knowledge, and liaising with legal and production to clear images/footage/media assets for use.

Required/Preferred

3-5 years of experience clearing multimedia materials for use in large-scale and/or digital education projects

Preferred

Skill to accurately develop complex project plans, resource requirements, and project cost estimates; ability to deliver projects within budget, using resources efficiently and effectively

Required

Ability to understand the process involved to adapt, integrate, and modify existing systems for a quickly-evolving project.

Required

Ability to facilitate and oversee multiple workstreams of assigned functions/areas with common objectives

Skill to accurately develop complex project plans

Leadership experience in facilitating meetings and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in academia, from the community, and other Center staff.

Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education

Master of Arts in Asian American Studies or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education

Demonstrated ability to summarize, compose, and produce weekly documentation reports

Proficient in common applications in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with professional messaging programs like Slack
