Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs accurate analysis of all cardiac anatomy and assimilates appropriate data necessary for interpretation of study and assesses the same for the staff.
• Utilizes appropriate communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Assists the physician as needed during procedures and monitors physiological parameters during procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in operating and troubleshooting equipment in the Echo Lab.
• Performs job to ensure quality care is provided within defined area of accountability.
• Safely transports Echo machine to patient room to perform Echocardiogram or transports patients to department as necessary.
• Takes call after regular hours.
• Restocks work areas with necessary supplies. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
• Ensures appropriate documentation of charting and charges
• Participates actively in continuing education and assists in education of new staff as requested.
• Communicate effectively and serves as a liason to promote interdepartmental relationships.
• Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.

EXPERIENCE

Required - Allied Health, CVT or background.

Preferred -Two Years Echo experience.

EDUCATION

Required - Graduate of an accredited program in Vascular/Cardiac Sonography and additional courses in management. Employees hired prior to February 1, 2010 shall have ARDMS or CCI registration achieved by February 2011. All other employees will have completed their ARDMS or CCI registration by the first anniversary date of employment.

Preferred - Registered Diagnostic Sonographer.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
