Job Description

The Electronics Technician (ET) Maintenance I is responsible for maintaining and repairing system wide oversight and quality control of network signal processing. Troubleshoots and repairs problems with transmission levels, and/or equipment failures to included but not limited to; network analysis and integrity. Responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing network facilities, systems, cabling including equipment and related components involved in signal processing, amplification and transmission. Troubleshoots and repairs problems with transmission levels, signal losses, off-air interference and equipment failures.

The ET also applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.

Additionally, the ET will function in the dual capacity of operator-maintainer to safely and realistically operate and maintain fully functional systems, equipment or circuits (such as radar, radio, telecommunication, video) for maximum training and mission effectiveness supporting combat force training. Apply basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions to troubleshoot, inspect, repair, service, adjust/align/calibrate, prevent/control corrosion, remove and replace/reinstall, modify/upgrade equipment and documentation IAW approved directives, & re-establish systems after movements/deployments. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. This job requires the physical capability to lift, maneuver, and carry weighted objects involving individual or team manual lift or hoist in a variety of environments, including shop, warehouse, bay, tower, and flight-line.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Maintain current tower climb certification
• Operate and maintain all DENRO components and gator radio systems
• Monitor/configure systems to include developing new and/or changing TED maps
• Operate and maintain data lines (T1 & T3), microwave links, and fiber lines
• Ensure required reports and documentation are available and properly maintained
  
• Comply with BSEt’s Quality and Safety Programs and other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements

• Requires high school diploma and successful completion of accredited Technical Apprentice Program in Electronics or equivalent military training, or minimum three (3) years’ experience at journeyman level
• Associate Degree in Electronics and experience at the Craftsman level highly desirable.
• IAT II (A+ software/hardware and Security +) Certification required
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate basic and some advanced technical knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and devices, interpret circuit diagrams to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents, as well as demonstrate knowledge in the use of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters, and computer control equipment and analyzers.

• US Citizen // Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required
• Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license and meet all requirements for a flight-line driving permit
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
