Primary Function: This position ensures that Emergency services have the necessary hardware and software available to perform their function within the County.

Responsibilities:

• Functions as directed by the DES & IT steering committee.
• Oversees and administers operations of the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
• Coordinates and facilitates regular and emergency maintenance with the County IT department, radio, telephone, CAD, and other vendors.
• Provides technical support (hardware and software) on all DES end user devices.
• Coordinates regular communications and knowledge transfer with appropriate County IT and DES staff to ensure team members are up to date.
• Confirms adherence to all approved County IT policies and procedures at DES.
• Serves as the technical advisor to the Director of DES.
• Regularly attends meetings and walkthroughs with DES Management related to general technology needs.
• Reviews technical documentation, contracts, and proposals.
• Coordinates with the CIO and DES Director for strategic planning of future technology needs.
• Travel may be required to meeting locations as assigned by DES Director or CIO.
• Communicates with other government offices and agencies to promote, facilitate, and implement data to provide efficient delivery of public safety activities.
• Assists management in the auditing of IT vendors and contract obligations.
• Receives and responds to vendor inquiries regarding technology.
• Develops and maintains strong understanding of DES operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass multi-level background check.
• Must be able to pass and maintain CJIS clearances.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge and experience working with mission critical networks and systems used in a mission critical environment preferred.
• Network and Systems certifications preferred.
