Lu Engineers is a multi-discipline engineering firm providing highway design, bridge design, civil engineering, bridge inspection, construction services and environmental service for transportation infrastructure projects throughout New York for over 40 years. Lu Engineers is headquartered in Rochester with additional offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, Binghamton, Albany and NYC.

Lu Engineers is looking for an Environmental Technician/Environmental Scientist to support our Investigation/Remediation Group as well as perform other environmental compliance and related assistance to the company overall.

General Description of Responsibilities: Perform inspection, sampling and testing of environmental media (soil, groundwater, vapor, waste) for laboratory analysis. Supervise drilling, excavation and other intrusive and non-intrusive investigation and remedial activities. Assist with inspection of properties for environmental compliance and Phase I environmental site assessments. Write reports and prepare GIS mapping documenting investigation and remediation projects. Interact with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

BS or higher level degree in Geology or Natural Sciences

Functional knowledge of ESRI Arc GIS and Auto Cad

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification Preferred

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
