Do you have familiarity with operating the following:

• -Bystronic Laser Cutting Machines or Press Brakes
• -BLM Tube Laser Cutting Machine (LT8)
• -Waterjet Cutting Machine

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Execute laser schedule (Flat or Tube). Priorities provided by Velocity Board and Production Manager.

Modify programs, parameters and nesting to optimize machine path is safe, reduce material usage and optimal cut time. Nests with unloading process in mind, Programs indicate part and job identifications when possible. Utilize Laser Tower and Automation

Perform “Laser Blitz”. Laser Blitz: A scheduled time to run remnant material, with minimal machine down time. Prepare all material and programs prior to start. Initiate 1 to 2 time targeted “Laser Blitz” per day. “laser Blitz” times determined by manager and/or Lead.

Backup Laser operator, cover lunches, break and absences of operators

Collaborate with manager and/or Lead for scheduled machine maintenance and down time. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and contact manufacture for help as necessary

Keep work area clean and organized

Preform Quality Assurance checks of own work and coworkers. Insure all customer specifications are held within the Laser Department.

Proven ability to cut ½” carbon steel with Nitrogen (all materials up to ½” run with Nitrogen unless authorized by manager).

Maintain accurate documentation of machine usage, work order and QA

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of material type, thickness, grade and machine flow

Understanding of machine operation, material cutting times.

Capable of modifying on the fly laser parameters and nesting programs to maintain production.

Capable of preforming minor machine maintenance

Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with many simultaneous tasks

Ability to plan, organize, and execute daily production plan

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface effectively with all levels of the organization
