This is a great entry-level Financial Analyst opportunity in which you will provide daily support to the accounting and finance departments as well as perform routine assignments and solve routine/standard problems with limited discretion. This role would be best suited for candidates that are comfortable with uncertainty and are able to work with a considerable amount of information. This contract / temporary to hire position is for a long-term duration.

What you get to do every single day

• Solidify and inspect budgets and income statement forecasts
• Assist in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
• Analyze and query a considerable amounts of data
• Help in diverse aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
• Help internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
• Tend to monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
• Contribute innovative alternatives and guidance to reduce costs and advance financial performance of a company
• Contribute in annual budgeting process
• Help out in the devising of monthly financial reporting and other business data
• Intermittently work with non-financial staff members and be able to clarify complex financial subjects in special assignments
• Analyze actual results at the corporate and division levels
• Less than one year of experience required
• Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
• Practical knowledge of investments
• Asset management experience
• Analysis experience desired
• Financial analysis experience required
• Adeptness in back office support
• General familiarity with investment portfolio
• Account management experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of investment financial modeling
• Strong familiarity with forecasting
• Substantial computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
