JOB TITLE: Food and Farm Compliance Coordinator

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Supply Chain Director

General Summary: The Food and Farm Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that our egg producing co-op members comply with all relevant federal regulations, food safety audits, social audits, etc. The Food and Farm Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, disseminating information on federal regulation changes, and if necessary, helping to develop and recommend compliance policies and procedures for each farm within our co-op to maintain the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures within ProEgg, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, food safety audits, social audits, environmental surveys, etc.
  • Conduct regular audits of farms' compliance with established policies and procedures, identifying and addressing any gaps or areas of improvement.
  • Become an approved supplier and member by collecting audit certificates, insurance, letter of guarantee, and complying with regulations and registrations for various organizations such as the USDA, UEP, and Certified Humane.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including documentation of audits, inspections, and regulatory changes.
  • Stay up to date with changes in federal regulations related to food and farm compliance, and disseminate relevant information to the co-op, egg processors, and farms.
  • Collaborate with ProEgg leadership team, egg producing members, and individual farms to resolve compliance-related issues, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating and responding to customer complaints, mock recalls, including conducting investigations, managing communication, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Work closely with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of food safety audits, social audits, and compliance inspections.
  • Provide regular reports to ProEgg management team on compliance status, identifying areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
  • Participate in industry forums, conferences, and training programs to stay updated on best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to food and farm compliance.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations related to food safety, social audits, and compliance, as well as experience with food recall requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple farms' compliance records and audits simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate regulatory changes and compliance requirements to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with the food industry and understanding of the unique compliance challenges in farm and food safety.
  • Professional certifications related to food safety, compliance, or regulatory affairs are preferred.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in agriculture, food science, or related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and farm compliance, regulatory affairs, or related roles.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Working Conditions: Standard office setting.
