General Description

The quick-service dining locations at the Mexico Pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase are some of the most popular in the Epcot Theme Park. Including La Cantina de San Angel, Choza de Margarita, and the Festival Kiosk, these outdoor areas are well-known for beautiful views, exceptionally friendly service and tasty, Mexican-inspired food and beverage favorites.

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for assisting Restaurant Managers in overseeing the daily operations of these quick-service locations. This individual will assist in supporting, coaching and directing the front-of-house food and beverage teams to ensure that each team member meets and exceeds standards and achieves daily goals. In addition, Restaurant Supervisors know and be able to work each position in the quick-service locations, and may be called upon to fill in as needed.

The Restaurant Supervisor must consistently maintain the highest possible standards of guest service, food and beverage quality, safety, and financial responsibility. When standards are not met, this individual must be able to hold team members accountable and take action to correct the situation.

The Restaurant Supervisor must be able to effectively delegate daily responsibilities, maximize productivity, and build strong relationships with team members, vendors and guests. In addition, this individual must ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and occupational safety guidelines.

In order to be successful, a Restaurant Supervisor must possess a thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, business leadership and food safety regulations.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

  • Provide support for the front-of-house team, which may include opening or closing shifts as well as leading daily front-of-house restaurant operations and/or working in various positions as needed
  • Assist in supporting, directing and coaching the front-of-house restaurant team
  • Provide leadership guidance and assistance at the Point-of-Sale systems as needed
  • Assist with guest satisfaction checks and provide guest recovery as needed
  • Respond to and resolve guest issues quickly and effectively
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are met at all times
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety within the restaurant are met
  • Ensure food safety regulations and procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure all state and federal alcohol service guidelines are followed at all times
  • Assist in the training and development of front-of-house team members
  • Assist in the scheduling of the front-of-house team as necessary.
  • Assist with coaching and counseling front-of-house team members as necessary
  • Recognize team members for high achievement
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members as appropriate
  • Consistently communicate all necessary information to the restaurant team
  • Work closely with all other leaders and team members and display good teamwork
  • Follow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics and Company Guidelines at all times
  • All other tasks as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Work Experience & Education Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of food & beverage experience
  • Previous leadership experience preferred. Previous restaurant leadership experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with high volume and/or upscale restaurants a plus.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plus
  • Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate
  • Must be well versed in food safety, including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirements
  • Must be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform all necessary job functions
  • Must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hours
  • Must be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining rooms
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push and pull (carts, doors etc.)
  • Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoors
  • Must be able to work around foods containing various food allergens
  • Must be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all types
  • Must be able to effectively satisfy guest demands
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with, train, coach and lead other team members
  • Must be fluent in the English language
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-time
  • Must be able to comply company appearance guidelines
