We are looking for a number of warehouse associates for the Day shift. The Day Shift schedule is from Monday to Friday either 6 am to 2:30 pm or 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the General Warehouse Associate will be detail orientated individual with exceptional customer service skills who will be required to report in at our Elgin, IL location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and move products by hand or with basic material handling equipment
- Operate a variety of equipment to unload and load and move products
- Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
- Weigh products, wrap goods and pack and unpack products
- Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipment’s needs
- Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
- Prepare and process customers’ orders by using various shipping systems (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
- Communicate with the carrier to coordinate the shipping schedule for the orders
- Process incoming requisitions which include picking, checking and packing orders
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and other documents
- Restock bins
- Maintain and organize inventory
- Use the inventory control system to locate information, search orders or investigate discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
- Other general warehouse duties as required.
Education and Competencies:
- Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products up to 50 lbs. on daily basis
- Experience operating industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts would be an asset
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work at a fast pace with frequently changing dynamics
- Significant use of memory
- Ability to operate a computerized inventory control system and scan gun picking
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently
- Customer Service oriented
- One year of related experience will be an asset but not required.
