Handyman/Maintenance Technician (Quincy)

A family owned real estate business is looking for a Handyman/Maintenance Technician for Quincy properties. Someone to start as a Handyman/ Maintenance Technician and if interested develop into a property manager. We are looking for a Self-motivated, dependable and honest person with property maintenance skills that can work both independently and as part of our team.

Work hours can be M – F 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Responsibilities:

• Readying apartments during turnovers, including painting, cleaning and repair
• Snow plowing, blowing and shoveling
• Drywalling/ light plumbing repair/ light electrical repair, light carpentry, general maintenance
• Cover for Property Manager a few times a year
• Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, ceilings etc.)
• Repair equipment or appliances
• Assist tradespeople with electrical or plumbing repairs
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)
• Identify and report the need for major repairs

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience as handyman (willing to train the right, dedicated employee)
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing or systems
• Good communication skills
• Well-organized
• Pays attention to detail
• High school diploma or equivalent

Must:

• Be honest and trust worthy
• Be willingness to submit to a drug & background check
• Live within a 30 min. drive of Quincy (live in the greater Quincy area)
• Be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Be able to climb ladders
• Have general knowledge of use of power and hand tools
• Be available for snow removal as necessary after hours and weekends

Previous maintenance or trade experience preferred but could train the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is wants a career opportunity. We offer full time, benefits package including medical, paid time off and overtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
