THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technicians to install, repair, and maintain nonwoven textile machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Technician performs regular inspections of machinery, carries out repairs and routine preventative maintenance, and fulfills other duties such as facilities and building maintenance, as assigned. The HBF maintenance team ensures that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition, minimizing downtime and disruption to production schedules and eliminating safety hazards for operators.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Works on electromechanical equipment and systems, including but not limited to bearings, chains, motors, sprockets, fabrication, conveyors, oven components, looms, heat elements, and blending and grinding lines.
  • Responds to machine failures and emergency breakdowns and repairs issues safely, quickly and efficiently; prepares reports documenting work performed.
  • Identifies causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines and collaborates with team to help prevent repeat issues, implementing improvements and plans of action
  • Monitors and works on the plant mechanical systems/sub-systems; uses schematics/blueprints in troubleshooting electromechanical failures
  • Executes preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, thoroughly cleaning machines and machine parts, removing parts, oiling and lubricating moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance and reinstalling, as necessary; records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to ad hoc facilities maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS | ABILITIES

  • High school diploma/GED required; Trade or vocational school certification; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanically inclined with great troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Organized with good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Works well independently and with others
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with rapidly changing demands and priorities
  • Knowledge and ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Able to bend, stretch, twist, push, pull, grasp, grip and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willing and able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
