The Aftermarket Legacy/Military Operations Manager will oversee the operations for Legacy and Military Programs at Pratt & Whitney AutoAir (Lansing, MI). The Operations Manager will manage day to day operations responsibilities as well as support the development and implementation of new business. The role will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of cell leaders directly managing the individual legacy/military cells of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused & effective leadership to drive operational activity towards achieving on time delivery and quality performance goals.
  • Work with the Deputy General Manager (GM) to plan and adjust staffing levels to achieve performance metrics.
  • Significant interaction with customers, shop floor personnel, and all other business process groups required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of cell efficiency, training, etc., and work with the Continuous improvement team to implement.
  • Mentor cell leader team and aid in their career development opportunities
  • Manage capital spending projects as needed.
  • Must be able to create and give high level, analytical business presentations intended for a leadership audience.
  • Demonstrate high level of customer focus, business judgment, adaptability, and teamwork and communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Manufacturing, Military, Operations, Engineering, or Quality; OR Master's Degree in with 7+ years’ experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Manufacturing, Military, Operations, Engineering, or Quality.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace experience
  • Prior maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 145 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Repair Station experience
  • Continuous improvement certificates/training such as 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification.
  • Experienced in SAP and Microsoft Office
