Summary
The Nurse Extern, is currently enrolled in a School of Nursing and has successfully completed a Nursing fundamentals course. When on duty, s/he assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic patient care designed to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of the patient. The Nurse Extern may also be cross-trained to perform unit secretary clerical duties. The Extern may perform nursing practice interventions learned within his/her clinical training and successfully validated by a RN staff member.
Qualifications
EducationRequired: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
CertificationsRequired: American Heart Association BLS
