Job description

Ophthalmic Technician working with the MD and OD to perform patient care, pre-testing, post- exam duties and work up the patients in a professional manner.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preforms preliminary evaluation of patients prior to exam by the OD and MD, including dilation , diagnostics testing
• Collect patient history, determine medical issues
• Assist MD and OD to care for patients in a timely and effective manner
• Instruct patients on medical care and treatment plan prescribed by the MD or OD
• Respond to patients phone inquires regarding medications and treatment
• Completes proper coding of procedures
• Assit with patient procedures
• Cleaning, stocking, opening and closing exam rooms

Qualification:

• High School Graduate
• Familiar with medical terminology and eye treatment
• Computer skills
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Prior experience maintaining patients records /files per HIPPA regulations
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
