JOB SUMMARY: Work associated with this position requires executing sales strategies to drive profitable Outside Sales initiatives throughout the organization and into the market. The primary focus of the Outside Sales Assistant is to assist with the customer service, processing, communication and reporting of gift card, gift certificate, Community Cash, and outside sales orders.

Responsible for the daily completion of all outside sales orders, providing exceptional customer service and promoting Food City Outside sales programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist customers with gift card, gift certificate, Community Cash and Outside Sales orders
• Process, invoice and ship gift card, gift certificate, Community Cash and Outside Sales orders
• Assist with maintaining the execution of strict controls and security processes involving gift cards, gift certificates, Community Cash cards and Outside Sales inventory
• Follow up, research and resolve all Outside Sales related customer service, order, shipping and accounting issues
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports and updates regarding Outside Sales performance
• Work with marketing team to execute the Outside Sales strategy
• Participate in continuous improvement and training of Outside Sales technology, systems and the overall customer ordering experience
• Drive continuous sales growth through online, printed, phone and in-person sales and strategies
• Attend training and meetings on and offsite as needed
• Manage time effectively, with minimum of supervision
• Set examples for and expectations for exceptional customer service
• Crosstrain with Loyalty Marketing to assist with customer service and customer data maintenance
• Work professionally and effectively with individuals who have varying levels of skills and learning abilities to teach required skills and responsibilities
• Responsible for attending on-site work during normal business hours in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in retail, management and/or sales
• Must have excellent communication skills and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Must have advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Must be able to think strategically
• Must be willing to learn new technology
• Must be able to adhere to strict policies regarding inventory control and security
• Must have a strong understanding of sales practices
• Must have the ability to analyze data and provide actionable insight
• Must have the ability to multitask and remain organized
• Must be able to travel to multiple store and customer locations as needed and possess a valid and unrestricted Drivers License
• Flexibility to adjust personal work schedule to meet the demands of the position
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals daily
• Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
