The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center (PW-CEC) is looking for a Process Engineer to support of the Military Engine Center of Excellence (MECoE) team. The MECoE team at CEC supports the full overhaul and repair of F100 and F117 engines, through test and recertifying the engines back to on-wing service.

The person in this role is primarily responsible for clarifying aircraft engine repair work scopes and associated work instructions to the Operations Department. These engineers will perform a technical advisory role in the dis-assembly, repair, assembly, and testing of jet engines. The Process Engineer will support other functions within the Engine Center to include Materials, Quality, and Accounts Management when routine technical questions and issues that may arise in the day-to-day function of the Engine Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations in solving any assembly/configuration/inspection problems.
  • Collaborate with cross functional disciplines to solve technical issues as they arise.
  • Develop, revise, and/or maintain work scopes and instructions as required to prevent production interruption.
  • Provide engineering support in response to production constraints as required.
  • Support Operations in troubleshooting rejected engines in test cell. Monitor the disassembly of the engine to identify possible cause of reject.
  • Provide engineering support and advising to other functional areas regarding technical issues related to quality, operations processes, materials, and customer support.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency using new materials, processes, or technology.
  • Assist with implementation of new materials, processes, or technology.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2+ years' experience in manufacturing or engineering role, OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 0+ years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering role.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace or Aftermarket Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry experience
  • Strong technical aptitude, knowledge of complex mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engine manuals and blueprints, dimensions & tolerances (GD&T), and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience in SAP or equivalent materials resource planning (MRP) system
  • Experience in Solumina G8 or equivalent manufacturing execution system (MES)
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
