We are looking for a skilled Buying Agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. The desired candidate will have the ability to procure raw materials, supplies, and equipment needed for production, while ensuring timely delivery and optimal pricing. You have the means and opportunity to raise our profits by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. Knowledge of how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers.

The selected candidate must issue and follow up purchase orders within the required deadlines to ensure the level of service and maintain an inventory level according to established guidelines.

The incumbent will be responsible for domestic and international supplies for the PTI Plastic & Rubber Gasket plant in Rockledge Florida.

The incumbent must work towards becoming familiar with the market data and transmit the information to the various systems in place in a precise and diligent manner.

The incumbent must perform the main functions and multitask in harmony with the values of excellence, flexibility, integrity, respect, fairness, and loyalty, which characterize the corporate culture.

Main Duties:

· Issue Purchase Orders to authorized suppliers, in the USA, Canada, Asia and more. Confirm the lead time, but also thoroughly follow-up with the supplier for on time delivery having in consideration our min-max stocks where applicable based on our planned work orders.

· Analyze the system requirements using our SAP MRP and LISA extension, to establish a purchase plan for the items requested for production.

· Evaluate purchasing data and identify areas for improvement, such as reducing lead times, consolidating orders, or negotiating better prices.

· Purchases of the various products, from miscellaneous, adhesives, shipping boxes, to molds/toolings, raw materials, and as needed, organize transportation to be able to meet production requirements.

· Follow up on the receipt of the certificates of origin, certificates of conformity or any other document required with the purchase order.

· Build relationships with existing suppliers and learn about their delivery times, lead times, and payment terms.

· Monitor inventory levels and lead times, and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels. Also, plan replenishment to obtain the best possible stock rotation. While maintaining accurate records and reports on purchasing activities.

· Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with existing and new suppliers, focusing on price, quality, delivery times, and payment terms.

· Ensure that quality assurance receives assistance for procedures related to non-conformities, if needed obtain authorization and complete the return of goods.

· Tracking PO’s using all the online resources and platforms.

· Also perform any additional duties required by the supervisor.

Skills

· Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role. (1–3-year minimum experience)

· Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions. As well with MPR’s and ERP’s

· Knowledge of market research, data analysis, purchasing practices, shipping, tracking.

· Good working knowledge of MRP, MS Office and purchasing software. (SAP preferable)

· Excellent communication and people skills, with a strong analytical mindset.

· Outstanding organizational skills – detail oriented.
