Your Role
You will monitor the transportation budget, implementing goals, and supervising employee performance. Other tasks include ensuring adherence to safety standards, delegating work assignments to drivers, and managing databases. The Planning and Transportation Supervisor also manages inventory and maintains communications with the customer, carriers, suppliers, warehouses, custom brokers and others involved in the shipping and delivery of merchandise. This is onsite and you will report to Quality ManagerYour Responsibilities
- You will ensure goods are shipped and delivered promptly and inventory levels are maintained.
- You will oversee the transportation of products such as loading docks to warehouses and warehouses to customers.
- Arranging product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers accordingly.
- You will conduct cost analysis and get shipping quotes to decide on best carriers which is cost -efficient
- Monitor customer needs and manage inventory by analyzing product orders
- You will be responsible for re-ordering product to maintain inventory up to date.
- Ensure health and safety policies comply with OSHA regulations
- You should be able to work in Ambient, Cooler and Freezer areas
Your Skills and Experiences
- 5+ years' experience as a Logistics/Transportation Supervisor (preferably in Pharma Chain)
- Experience in forklift operations (Forklift certification preferred)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and PowerPoint
- High School/GED and Bachelor's degree in facilities management
- 5+ years’ experience in warehouse management and inventory system
