REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Baltimore/DC, Houston, Phoenix, New York

The Lonely Entrepreneur (www.lonelyentrepreneur.com) is seeking several Regional Development Officers whose role will be to secure funding from corporations, philanthropies, governments and other individuals for TLE's non-profit. Success in this role is generating funding so that TLE can achieve its goal of empowering 1 million entrepreneurs worldwide.

Our programs enable organizations to empower individuals with entrepreneurial skills by providing them with free access to The Lonely Entrepreneur Learning Community is one stop shop for the knowledge, skills and tools every entrepreneur needs to start or grow a business. We do this by providing their platform - called the Learning Community - free to entrepreneurs through sponsorships and support of corporate and philanthropic partners. This serves not only to empower individuals but to provide corporate and philanthropic partners with an impactful way to serve their social and community objectives.

COMPENSATION:

Base: Base $60,000 - $100,000

Expected Earning at Goal: $250,000

ABOUT THE LEARNING COMMUNITY

The Lonely Entrepreneur Learning Community is one stop shop for the knowledge, skills and tools every entrepreneur needs to start or grow a business. It gives entrepreneurs multiple ways to get the answers they need including:

  • Knowledge: 1000 learning modules on business and personal issues entrepreneurs face
  • Tools: 100s of templates (e.g., legal agreements) and reviews of vendors (e.g., CRM)
  • Ongoing Support and Community: through two channels - an online community and group coaching - where they can get their questions answered
  • 150+ Funding Sources: exposure to funding opportunities
  • 50+ Vendor Vetting and Deals: vetted vendors and deals (including some free services)
  • 200+ Procurement Opportunities: opportunities to offer services to larger companies

OUR INITIATIVES

We enable corporations, philanthropies, governments and other individuals to empower the individuals of their choice with entrepreneurial skills. This includes important initiatives including the Black Entrepreneur Initiative (to empower 100,000 Black entrepreneurs), the Hispanic Entrepreneur Initiative (to empower 100,000 Hispanic entrepreneurs), and programs supporting world-class corporate clients including UPS, Molson Coors, Microsoft, ESPN, AARP, Urban League, the Milwaukee Bucks, Ally Bank, Lakewood Church, Richard Petty Motorsports, the NFL Players Association, the Charlotte Hornets, Cerner, American University, Wells Fargo, Urban Upbound, Winston & Strawn, Wayne State University, Ice Miller, Sterling National Bank,Dell, Oracle, Staples, World Woman Foundation, City Current, NFLPA, Cambridge Innovation Center, NYU, Wells Fargo, Future Founders, Paul Weiss, Future Business Leaders of America, Rutgers Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development, World Chicago, Bucknell University, and Winston & Strawn.

THE ROLE

In this role, we are seeking an energetic, detail oriented and disciplined individual that has a track record of securing multi-million dollar funding including:

  • Corporate funders
  • Philanthropic/Foundation Funders
  • Donor-advised Funds
  • Employee Matching Programs
  • Individual Donors
  • Government Programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet and exceed fundraising goals
  • Obtaining financial support from individuals and organizations
  • Collaborating with a network to identify and build relationships with new donors
  • Developing relationships with potential sponsors/funders to facilitate support
  • Leveraging common donor, grant and charity tools and resources
  • Identifying and securing grant opportunities
  • Furnishing regular progress reports.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing sponsors.
  • Demonstrate advantages and benefits of our recommended solution to prospects

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Success in securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships, as well as achieving fundraising goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of fundraising, sales or business development experience.
  • Proficient with sponsorship solicitation.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications and CRMs.
  • Excellent understanding of best practices.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strategic thinker and persuasive communicator who understands the value of relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in oral and written forms. Successful public speaking experience
