Overall Responsibility

Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the facility in a sanitary manner. Follows all procedures, SSOPs, to ensure the facility is properly cleaned and sanitized to food safety standards. Works with all other team members in different areas throughout the plant in a safe manner to ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitized and ready for use.

Core Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Clean and sanitize facilities so that they are always neat, clean, and presentable. These areas include but are not limited to floors, walls and emptying all trash - however it is being stored. This will include hallways, bathrooms, offices, and eating areas.

· Clean and sanitize all production and baking equipment according to Sanitation. Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) using prescribed methods and chemicals. They must also document these activities according to the SSOP.

· Clean, wash, and sanitize all utensils, pans, and miscellaneous items that may require the cleaning process in the automatic washer and sanitizing equipment in the most effective manner possible.

· The Sanitation Technician is responsible for staying current on all SSOP’s and work practices recognizing that they are responsible for their own performance.

· Maintain the facility in a neat and orderly fashion, and practice safe behaviors so that proper signage is being utilized whenever required and to notify other employees of unsafe conditions that are created through the use of water.

· Clean equipment in a safe and conscientious manner so that the cleaning process does not damage the operation and the equipment being dealt with.

All other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Inside a facility that temperatures can vary from cold to hot dependent upon exterior temperatures. Minor smoke/smell from ovens and dryers. Contact with food allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, and tree-nuts. Occasionally required to enter walk-in-cooler or freezer for a short period of time with normal temperature between 0 to 40 degrees. Dealing with varying temperatures of water often.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. On foot on a continuous basis. Grasping, pushing, pulling as needed. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
