Remote Alaska Solutions seeks a full-time seasonal administrative assistant with accounts payable experience at our Palmer headquarters. This position will work closely with the Office Manager and Controller to execute various policies and procedures related to AP (accounts payables), data entry, and other necessary office tasks to ensure the rest of the staff has the support they need to work efficiently.

The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, self-motivated and process-oriented individual with availability during Alaska’s peak construction season, at least May to October, with an opportunity to stay on permanently thereafter. This job is on-site and does not offer remote work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with company policies
  • Manage scheduling/travel arrangements/appointments
  • Assist office staff with answering phone calls, responding to emails and handling other written correspondence
  • Support accounts payable, budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
  • Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
  • Provide other office administrative or bookkeeping support as necessary
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
  • Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
  • Accounts payable experience required.
  • Proficient Excel skills required.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and pivot between multiple tasks throughout the day.
  • Strong detail-orientation with a knack for data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to create and deliver findings, presentations and reports to Controller and any other senior management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
