Description

The Nurse Shift/Program Supervisor position is responsible for supervising employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of patients.
This position will work every weekend to include Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some hours on Monday.

The Nurse Shift/Program Supervisor position is responsible for supervising employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of patients.
This position will work every weekend to include Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some hours on Monday.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Determines amount of staff to meet nursing care needs and that resident needs are met by staff
- Provides supervision to nursing care staff
- Ensures proper coverage so residents have adequate care
- Assigns responsibilities to nurses, completes reports, documents employee performance, absences, training and other personnel related matters
- Assists with nursing responsibilities as needed

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: (See Special Requirements)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases and contaminated materials.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
