Cash

• Review reconciliation for restricted bank account
• Review journal entry to record restricted cash and the related liability

Prepaids

• Maintain prepaid expense module within accounting system, Intacct.
• Review all prepaid schedules prepared by staff accountant into Intacct prepaid module for accuracy.
• Maintain schedule of insurance policies and premiums. Collaborate with HR compliance and insurance provider to confirm completeness of policies and premiums.
• Review monthly prepaid amortization journal entry.
• Prepare monthly prepaid account reconciliation.
• Assist HR with quarterly prepaid malpractice insurance coding and payment.

• Supervise and train staff on preparation of prepaid journal entry amortization

Fixed Assets

• Maintain the fixed asset register (system module within Intacct).
• Maintain accurate and complete list of projects in Construction in Progress account.
• Review bills coded to CIP for appropriate capitalization per CapEx policy.
• Facilitate monthly/quarterly meetings with construction and IT departments over Construction in Progress project statuses.
• Monthly, review and approve fixed asset capitalization journal entries.
• Monthly review and approve fixed asset depreciation journal entry.
• Prepare monthly fixed asset and CIP account reconciliations and quarterly fixed asset roll forward.
• Quarterly, via internal communications, identify any sold or disposed assets and prepare necessary journal entries.

Accruals

• Review accrual entries prepared by staff accountant
• Prepare accrual entries for miscellaneous activity needed

Debt

• Monthly, review debt issuance cost journal entry and debt interest expense journal entry.
• Monthly, review rollforward debt account reconciliation.

Other – Reporting

• Prepare/review other journal entries as needed based on current month activity

• Prepare entries for prepaids, fixed assets, and/or accruals as needed for acquisition/divestiture activity

• Assist with providing monthly flux analysis explanations

• Prepare 10-Q and 10-K footnote support in areas of focus
• Compile schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors in areas of focus.

• As needed, review and update SOX narratives for areas of focus to keep the documentation updated to current processes

• Assist in developing and implementing process improvements in areas of focus.
• Complete special projects and ad-hoc assignments as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years’ experience required depending on type of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• CPA preferred, not required.
• Big 4 background or national public accounting preferred, not required.
• Experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting a requirement.
• Experience at a public company with an understanding of SOX 404 and SEC filing requirements preferred.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate not only within accounting team, but externally and inter-departmentally.
• Has the ability to re-prioritize projects, strong time-management skills and meet deadlines.
• Must be proficient in excel and have advanced knowledge over VLOOKUP and SUMIF formulas and pivot tables.
