Job Description Summary:

The Nursing Support Manager is a qualified professional who is responsible to assist the Area Director of Nursing and support all Regional Nurse Managers in the scheduling of patient visits for the prescribed drug therapies in accordance with the Naven Health policies, Federal, State, professional standards of practice and accrediting body requirements. The Nurse Support Manager oversees administrative support staff positions of nurse support supervisors, schedulers, and clerks.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Oversees staff responsible for coordination & scheduling of patient nursing care.
  • Supervises, monitors, and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of coordination of patient care across the entire support team for assigned territory.
  • Facilitates patient complaints or issues for resolution or to appropriate department.
  • Ensures management is aware of staffing needs and requirements.
  • Has oversight of scheduling needs with staffing availability.
  • Supports and monitors daily activities with regard to effective agency operations and communication.
  • Utilizes knowledge of documentation and billing requirements for home health and infusion care goods and services.
  • Reviews nurses’ qualifications and competencies to ensure they align with the appropriate assignments.
  • Has oversight for the coordination of all activities related to nursing support including direct and indirect patient services.
  • Assists with contacting patients and clinicians to schedule and confirm deliveries and visits.
  • Speaks knowledgeably of the scope of services that are available through Naven Health: Description of available services is accurate; Provides support to sales professionals.
  • Participates as a member of the professional advisory committee and identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates to the Area Director of Nursing, Regional Nurse Managers, as appropriate.
  • Participates in nursing department on call responsibilities as needed for nursing support.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher, experience in medical field or pharmacy field such as pharmacy technician. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infusion medications.
  • At least 1 year of experience directly or indirectly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
  • Required certification in CPR.


Basic Qualifications

  • Access to a reliable means of transportation which will enable the incumbents to make home visits to treat/attend to their patients. If such means of transportation would include a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license and a proof of insurance.
  • Experience applying knowledge of local, State, Federal, accrediting body, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • CPhT with a license in the current state of practice preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in a health care setting.
