Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution is currently seeking a TIG Welder for 1st shift. Our team specializes in manufacturing aerospace components for both military and commercial applications. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.
Core hours for this position are 6am-2:30pm
The starting hourly rate for this position is $28.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:
- Ability to shear and weld from sheet or foil stock within tight tolerances.
- Ability to safely perform testing of components using high air pressure or water under pressure (ATP)
- Perform pressure testing procedures
- Read blueprints and in accordance with standard shop practices.
- Ensure quality of parts through visual inspection and physical measurement using a wide variety of hand tools and gages.
- Work in accordance with general safety rules and practices.
- Keeps immediate work area clean and free from hazards.
- Responsible for finished parts conformity to print or specification.
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes.
- Must be a team player and be able to multi-task.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by TL, Supervisor
Qualifications:
Basic Qualification:
- H.S. Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of Welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with belt sander, planishing machine, shear machine and hand held inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, pi tape, loops, etc.).
Skills:
- Position requires strong math skills and ability to read/interpret engineering drawings.
- Position requires use of precision measuring instruments such as dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and depth gauges
- Ability to certify in Auto-TIG welding, Seam Welding, and/or Laser Welding.
- Ideal candidate will be certified to, or able to certify to, AWS specification D17.1 Automatic GTAW.
- Strong visual inspection skills are required.
- Position requires exposure to oil, dirt, and heat.
- Position requires wearing PPE including apron, safety glasses, and hearing protection
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs on a regular basis.
