Shift Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position directs the shift operations and maintain quality production output for designated shift.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Direct activities of set up person.
• Ensure production of employees are done accurately and precisely
• Must be capable of set up and familiar with multiple types of machines
• Observe safety practices and maintain good housekeeping standards
• Instruct and supervise machine operators, set-up personnel, material handlers, and Lead Floor Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Starts jobs and set machine controls to required quality standards and tolerances
• Must have knowledge of materials to be used in each product
• Trouble shoot equipment- must be able to determine and correct issues that arise
• Prepare production reports, set up, and cycle sheets and related documentation
• Report all equipment failures to Maintenance or Supervisor
• Verify that defects are properly identified and documented
• Ensure that proper raw materials are being used per work order
• Ensure material barrel and dryer are properly labeled with correct material and lot number
• Communicates effectively with department managers
• Line clearance produce performed

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma (Preferred)
• 5 years minimum in Plastics Manufacturing (Preferred)
• Communication Skills
• Reports to: Plant Manager

Experience:

• Plastics injection molding: 2 years (Required)
