Position Overview:

The Asphalt Screed Operator will operate on the asphalt paver making normal adjustments for obtaining depth, grade, and finished cross-sections. The Asphalt Screed Operator is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel with overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
• Operate on the asphalt paver making normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade, and finished cross-sections of asphalt material via screed extensions
• Out-of-town/county/state work may be required
• Perform other related duties
• Required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications
• Fuel, grease, maintain and help service equipment
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Position Requirements:

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating screed
• Operate Moba, Topcon, CAT electronics
• Must be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
• Physical ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours. The normal shift is 8-12 hours
• Current MSHA certification
