The Business Development’s primary duties include identifying business opportunities, building and establishing successful relationships with prospects converting them into clients, collaborating with executives on business strategy to determine objectives, evaluating current business relationships and ideal prospect/customer list in order to maximize new business growth. A Business Development Representative will generate new clients per grow overall sales in lawn maintenance and snow and ice mitigation to reach the overall company goals established each year. The Business Development will lead marketing initiatives as well as any networking events and groups either identified by leadership or Business Development Representative.

Wild Ridge Business Development, Here’s What You’ll Do:

External Customer Service

In business for 18 years, we have loyal clients who are serviced and renew annually which is lead by the Account Manager team. Our goal will be to increase overall sales figures by at least 20% each year. If clients do not renew, the Business Development will work on also replacing that revenue to help us reach this overall growth goal.

Internal Customer Service

The Business Development will be involved with the Account Managers and Production Managers to aid in successful transition and implementation of any new clients. This will entail ensuring a smooth transition, clear communication on who the client will be working with to sell our internal team, and clearly identify the goals and desires of the new client to help set the internal team up successfully.

  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns
  • Identify emerging markets to find new sales opportunities
  • Solicit and secure lawn maintenance, snow removal, and new installation leads, referrals and bid opportunities from a prospective commercial customer base not currently under contract with Wild Ridge
  • Create and organize a strong prospecting list and plan
  • Identify ideal client targets to most effectively gain new business in our desired client goals

Knowledge and Skills Needed:

  • Plant knowledge and industry experience required. Training provided/required if there is no prior knowledge.
  • Successful sales skills including strong prospecting, business development, presentation, negotiation, closing abilities, and experience.
  • Must be comfortable networking and generating new business.
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies.
  • Experience in customer relationship management and managing/directing a sales team.
  • Experience using CRM to manage the sales process and forecast sales.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Excellent verbal and written communication required including strong presentation, research, analytical/arithmetic skills, negotiation experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes.

Education

  • Required – Bachelor’s degree or greater from an accredited college or university or the equivalent of an associate degree.
  • Required – 5 years previous sales, customer relations and management experience.
  • Preferred – Prior experience in commercial and/or residential landscaping.

  • This position qualifies for the annual company trip with all expenses paid after one year of employment. Trip includes employee and spouse. This includes regular pay and not use of PTO stated above.
  • This position qualifies for the following paid holidays…Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, The Day After Thanksgiving, and Christmas and New Year’s Break.
  • This position qualifies to participate in the company IRA (3% match).

$70,000 - $125,000

OR BASE PLUS COMMISSIONS
