The Virginia Beach Sports Center sets the stage for athletes to test their will at the highest level.

This state-of-the-art facility has hosted a diverse roster of sporting events and tournaments since it opened in November 2020. The venue is located across the street from the Virginia Beach Convention Center and just steps away from local shops, restaurants and attractions, including the beautiful boardwalk and beaches of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The Virginia Beach Sports Center (VBSC) boasts 285,000 square feet of custom-configurable space, including 9 Field Hockey courts, 12 basketball courts, 24 volleyball courts, a 200 meter, hydraulically banked track, 64 wrestling mats, and seating for 5,000 spectators. Additionally, VBSC provides 5 meeting rooms and a 400-seat kitchen/concessions area.

The Virginia Beach Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. ESM’s management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

• Plan, supervise, execute, and evaluate creative programming for the campers and provide required direction to the staff team
• 
  
  Ensure counselors and staff are aware of any medical concerns or special needs within their group
• 
  
  Assist with adapting programs as needed to meet the needs of the campers
• 
  
  Assist in the supervision of the campers, as needed
• 
  
  Evaluate programs to ensure the mission and values of the property are being met
• 
  
  Ensure that all supplies, materials, and resources are available to staff as required
• 
  
  Relay any concerns of the staff, campers, and general public to the Director.
• 
  
  Assist in camp marketing
• 
  
  Schedule and perform staff orientation
• 
  
  Ensure safety standards and procedures are observed
• 
  
  Monitor staff performance and discuss any concerns with the Director
• 
  
  Complete a weekly communication report on the details of each camp session
• 
  
  Complete an end of summer report to the Director

• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with individuals of all ages (e.g. campers, staff, and parents/guardians)
• At least 6 months experience working at a camp or similar recreational setting including the supervision of staff and campers
• Challenge Course Practitioner Level 1 (preferred), must have the ability to obtain
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certificates (preferred), must have the ability to obtain
• This position requires a clear Criminal Background Check including a Vulnerable Persons Search
• This position requires a clear Child Welfare Check
• Must be at least 21 years of age
