Pay Class: Part Time
Shifts/Availability: Varies/Monday-Friday
Rate: $13.00-$14.00

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: The Octorara YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic Camp Associate to provide a safe and caring environment for campers while in YMCA care.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers in the group and camp-wide
• Provide a risk-free environment for all and oversee the whereabouts of children at all times
• Assist with the planning and implementation of activities in accordance with the camp guidelines
• Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents and staff
• Organize and maintain camp equipment, supplies and property
• Actively participate in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned
• Maintain camp records including, but not limited to, accident and incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older and/or have prior experience in working with children and/or successful completion of YMCA CIT program and/or completion of child development classes offered in school
• Attend all required pre-camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled
• Must have ability to interact positively with children and communicate professionally with parent
