The First Responders Wellness Center is searching for trauma-informed psychologists who can do pre-employment testing, fitness for duty, FOID reinstatements, individual therapy, (optional-couples, and/or group therapy) and yearly wellness checks.

The Psychologist position is for psychological testing (pre-employment and fitness for duty evaluations), individual, critical incident debriefs, and the ability to complete annual wellness checks.
Preference given to Veterans and first responders. Will be willing to train for this specialty if interested and have trauma experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed in the State of ILLINOIS
- PSY.D or PHD, or post-doc only
- 2 years of psychological testing
- 2 years of therapy
The Psychologist provides an array of mental health services including pre-employment testing, individual and couples therapy, individual and/or group debriefing for critical incidents, wellness checks, and suicide assessments. Should be familiar with PAI-2 Plus, MMPI-2, PCL-5 and other assessments used for PEPE. Therapy skills should include one of the following: CBT, EMDR, CPT, and exposure therapy.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Provide individual, couple, and possibly group therapy;
- Complete PEPE, background history and reports in a timely fashion
- Providing initial and follow-up support of personnel involved in critical incidents;
- Providing training on psychological and stress management, officer wellness, critical incidents, suicide awareness and prevention for first responders
- Documentation of services utilizing SOAP notes in client records management database/electronic health records system, ensuring confidentiality of client information
- Consulting and collaborating with staff, management, and health care professionals about matters related to mental health;
- Potentially supervise staff or interns.
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative style of working with others, and ability to work independently.
This is a full time position with benefits (health, vision and dental) or if desired, as an independent contractor part-time or full-time.
There are three locations which we would prefer you to work a few days at two locations, Chicago, Lincolnshire, and/or Lombard.
