Job Title:

Commercial Fleet Manager

Key Job Elements:

• Manage technical team located in several locomotive maintenance facilities in North America;

• Manage programs for efficiently maintaining a pool of locomotives for maximum availability and reliability;

• Manage and direct the efforts of others;

• Ensure that team remains safe on site, following all customer rules, with no accidents or injuries;

• Develop relationships with key customers & become main point of contact for locomotive service issues;

• Select, develop, & motivate a skilled technical team to effectively maintain the locomotive pool;

• Lead daily calls with team to stay up to date with fleet issues, establish priorities, assign actions;

• Manage Engine Reliability program and work with customer to determine failure dispositions;

• Develop, analyze, and implement programs and policies particular to the railway requirements;

• Ensure compliance with quality / cost / schedule requirements;

• Develop methodology to gather, interpret and evaluate data, and make recommendations to internal departments and the customer relative to the maintenance;

• Represent division to customers and communicate in a professional manner, resolve customer emergencies;

• Work closely with PRL commercial team to achieve customer goals & new opportunities;

• Work closely with internal PRL Customer Engineering team to develop data driven fleet reliability improvements;

• Maintain facility / comply with all railroad safety rules and policies;

• Ensure all governmental agency inspection requirements and / or procedures are accounted for and documented;

• Administer, perform & communicate, performance calculations of applicable maintenance contract;

• Prepare and maintain accurate reports detailing facility and locomotive performance records;

• Administer the Performance Planning and Development Process;

• Perform all responsibilities in accordance with, "Our Values in Action, Caterpillar's Code of Conduct.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

• Excellent communication skills, oral and written;

• High level of 710 engine, locomotive product and maintenance knowledge;

• High degree of interpersonal and supervisory skills;

• High level of 6-sigma/data analysis knowledge

• Excellent planning and organizing skills;

• Knowledge of railroad operations;

• Willingness to relocate as necessary;

• Travel as required including Canada.

Preferred:

• Broad knowledge of EMD & Class 1 Rail operations;

• Knowledge of company service and warranty policies

and procedures;

• Excellent computer skills, presentation skills and good knowledge of database planning tools.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions:

• Strength – Ability to travel without restrictions and minimal lifting requirement. Frequent sitting.

Occasional standing, walking;

• Motion – Employee will be moving during travel and sitting when in the office;

• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant communications, including both talking and hearing;

• Work Environment – Employee will be traveling as required, which will expose them to

different outdoor conditions (customer jobsites and/or offices). The balance of the time, they will be

working in an office setting;

• Emotional Demands – Ability to lead and communicate with customers and team members. Ability to

work with a team to accomplish the mission;

• Safety – Position is primarily limited to general office safety requirements. Position requires regular

travel. The employee will occasionally be at construction sites, which may require use of PPE.
