IPharma Pharmacy is a locally owned, independent pharmacy servicing the needs of patients in the Houston and Greater Houston Area. Our goal is to become THE one-stop-shop for all pharmaceutical needs, from regular retail pharmacy services, to non-sterile compounding, to sterile compounding to Long-Term-Care services. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who can help us make this vision a reality. The position we are looking to fill is for a full-time compounding technician who is familiar with both non-sterile and sterile compounding.
Location: 5400 Katy Freeway, Suite 100, Houston, TX, 77007
Hours of Operation: 8 hr shift, Monday to Friday (9am - 6pm), with occasional weekend shifts where needed.
Able to reliably commute to the pharmacy or willing to relocate prior to employment (required)
Compensation: $15 - $22/hourly dependent on skill set and experience.
Compounding Pharmacy Technician Job Summary
The position we are looking to fill is that of a full-time compounding technician who is familiar with both non-sterile and sterile compounding. Under the supervision of our Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will create compounds for our patients. Attention to detail is crucial in both the preparation and dispensing phase. You must also comply with all relevant safety protocols. Applicants need to have a valid pharmacy technician license and several years of experience working with compounded medications under an experienced pharmacist in a clinic or pharmacy.
Compounding Pharmacy Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Enter prescriptions from physicians and other medical professionals
- Weigh and measure medical ingredients for the specific formula
- Prepare and compound prescriptions per USP 795 and USP 800 specifications
- Ensure your workspace and pharmaceutical ingredients are safe and secured
- Adhere to all compounding and pharmacy safety protocols
- Follow instructions given by the Pharmacist-in-Charge and the pharmacy management team
- Adhere to the pharmay's policy and procedures
- Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining high compounding standards
Compounding Pharmacy Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- PTCB certified
- ACPE IV certified - must be acquired within 90 days of onboarding
- Registered in the State of Texas
- Familiarity with pharmaceuticals and medical terminology
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Minimum of 2 years of compounding experience in non-sterile and sterile compounding
- Able to lift 25-50lbs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
