Department Summary
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization which serves nearly 6,300 students in 15 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas: housing operations, residence life, and financial administration. UNT Housing contributes to the mission of the university by promoting safe and inclusive living environments, fostering student connections and campus engagement, and providing diverse learning opportunities.

Position Overview
The Student Leadership & Engagement Coordinator, under the supervision of an Associate Director, is a professional staff member that serves as a project manager, coordinator, and organizer for student focused leadership and engagement opportunities within Housing & Residence Life. This position is responsible for coordinating and advising student-based events, projects, and programs, and record keeping within Housing & Residential Life. This position is responsible for supervision of student staff and integrating the values and commitment of the university throughout the residential community and department operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and one year of professional related experience in
coordinating or administering higher education programming or related field; or any
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple ongoing responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
