Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is proud to be recruiting a Janitor/Maintenance Tech for a housing unit in Binghamton, NY. As a Maintenance Tech, you will report to the Maintenance Site Supervisor and are responsible for maintaining safety, cleanliness, and neatness within the facility. You are expected to have a positive and welcoming attitude toward the residents and visitors and demonstrate a great work ethic.

This is a contract-to-hire position.

Responsibilities

• Regularly and genuinely display excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and operational office, model, hallways and stairwells, trash rooms, and all other common areas.
• Make sure that the property is free of trash, debris, and waste.
• Ensure a pristine appearance of each apartment prior to new resident move-in.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in work orders, carpet cleaning, painting, and other projects.
• Make sure of the cleanliness of the dumpster areas and the necessary preparation for trash pick-up.
• Provide assistance with make-readies, as directed.
• Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures.
• Participate in and attend training sessions and team meetings.
• Understand and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform any other reasonable requests made by supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and heavy machinery including floor scrubbers and carpet extractors.
• Must be able to complete physical labor for at least five hours per day and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed.
