Contemporary Nutrition is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a full-time Private Practice position.

This position is Monday – Friday with traditional office hours and a full support staff.

Patient demographics include diverse ages, ethnicities, income, education, health concerns, and nutrition goals. Whether weight management, peak performance, wellness, or co-morbidities, our program provides education to meet each patient’s needs. Nutrition practice areas include endocrine, cardiac, bariatrics, gastrointestinal, oncology, musculoskeletal, renal, etc.

Salary Range $52,000-72,000*

Patient Care:

• Work one-on-one with patients in a face-to-face environment to develop a healthy relationship with food utilizing motivational interviewing
• Perform nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring/evaluation for patients
• Provide patients adaptive education based on their individualized needs, environment, readiness for change, while resourcing evidence-based research to treat and educate each patient
• Support area providers/physicians by providing nutrition care and education for patients referred for chronic conditions, dietary deficiencies, or other concerns
• Complete a MNT report for the referring provider with recommendations, education materials, and short/long term goals

Office Work:

• Develop/update new educational materials and tools
• Research diagnoses/conditions relevant to patient care
• Research products/resources to support patient care
• Develop presentations for specific nutrition topics to be used in community outreach [ie diabetic programs, schools, non-profits, employer groups – periodically upon request – with notice]

Our private practice setting allows our dietitians to work one-on-one with patients in a personal office space. Each office has a full-time office administrative team who handles scheduling, billing, filing, office work, cleaning, etc.

Each dietitian has the resources and opportunities for telehealth, small groups, and support classes. Our team of dietitians sets the environment for each dietitian to work independently while having the support of a diverse and experienced team. Bi-weekly RD zoom meetings and quarterly face-to-face full staff meetings allow for skill development, case study reviews for complex cases, and collaboration to develop programs that best meet the needs of our patients, community and team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters Degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics [ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)
• Completion of an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship (DI)
• Completion [or eligible for] the CDR examination for RDN
• Must obtain a NC RDN LDN License [or Provisional LDN License] prior to hire
• Experience preferred but not required

Skills

• Counseling and educational training for individual and group work
• Maintenance of effective relationships with other health care professionals
• Strong written, verbal, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Basic Microsoft computer skills required [Word, Excel, PowerPoint]
• Knowledge of menu planning and the conversion of nutrient recommendations into food and menus
