The Director of Accounting Operations and Recovery will be responsible for managing and supervising the accounting operations as it relates to cash receipts and cash disbursements and it’s integration with core systems (ie: IDX). This position will also be responsible for managing the recovery team as it relates to recovery of all sources of revenue and the recovery of overpayments issued.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for processing cash receipts and cash disbursements
  • Ensure internal controls and maintained to ensure protection of company all company assets
  • Ensure processes are in compliance with regulatory agencies and health plan requirements.
  • Ensure cash receipts and disbursements are reconciled monthly reconciliation with accountants
  • Annual processing and timely issuance of 1099s
  • Trains and develops staff by enhancing skills and providing growth opportunities within the company
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for each revenue and cost recovery process.
  • Ensure capture of all revenue and cost recovery of items.
  • Ensure timely submissions of recovery items to third parties
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation with accounting and posting of cash received to receivable database
  • Ensure maximum recovery is achieved
  • Reports on monthly on recoveries identified, collected and balances outstanding
  • Trains and develops staff by enhancing skills and providing growth opportunities within the company
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure process to identify and collect is complete and accurate
  • Analyze and participate in recovery efforts as needed
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent education and experience required. Master’s degree in Business or Public Health preferred.

Minimum Experience: Five (5) plus years prior experience in a managerial role, preferably within a healthcare or managed services environment required. Strong financial background with comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, practice and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required. Experience establishing policies and procedures for multiple entities and an understanding of internal controls required. SOX and SEC Compliance experience preferred.
