Director of Communications & Media Relations
Medical Device Manufacturer seeks an experienced individual for a full-time position managing our Marketing/Communications Department. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience working with management to develop and implement a marketing strategy in a dynamic industry. Previous experience with electronic marketing, including website optimization and email marketing in addition to communications is essential.
Andersen Sterilizers has been a leader in the field of low temperature sterilization for over forty years. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute communications campaigns to promote and raise awareness of Andersen Sterilizers, our customers and the benefits of EO sterilization
· Create and implement media outreach opportunities to promote the company by generating earned media coverage by national, regional, local and trade media
· Have a fluent understanding of the changing world of earned, owned and paid media
· Cultivate, maintain and leverage relationships with key industry, community and political leaders.
· Manage media relations inquiries, while considering the company’s priorities and the potential impact of the media coverage
· Lead issues/crisis management, serving as a dedicated point of contact for executives in crisis communications situations
· Serve as a company spokesperson and collaborate with the Andersen leadership team to identify and organize communications and media outreach efforts to promote them as experts in their field; prepare senior executives for media engagements, events, conferences, etc.
· Collaborate with several departments to develop and coordinate marketing, sales and communications content, as well as print and digital collateral
· Work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist and key stakeholders to ensure alignment around key priorities, positioning and initiatives
· Assist with social media platform content by coordinating with the Digital Marketing Specialist, as needed
· Assist in managing the negotiation and oversight of Marketing department vendor relationships
· Serve as the editor and/or writer for external communications
· Coordinate and/or execute photography and video projects
· Work with senior management to create and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to build brand and product awareness in veterinary, human medical and industrial markets
· Organize company trade shows and major events including marketing collateral development, booth design and implementation, giveaway coordination, pre and post promotion, and contention creation during show.
· Plan, direct and implement all company marketing efforts including but not limited to: Google Ads, print and digital advertising, distributor publication promotions
· Plan, direct and implement all company communication efforts including, but not limited to: social media, e-communication, press releases, literature development, website content, testimonials, promotional articles for publication
· Manage Andersen’s extensive photo collection, including shooting additional photos and editing as needed
· Manage and art direct graphic design for all print and digital applications, including hands-on designing when necessary
· Plan, direct and implement digital content creation including, but not limited to: concepting, scripting and shooting videos; editing or providing art direction to editor for all videos
· Serve as front-line marketing resource for external Andersen offices to include Andersen California, Andersen Scientific and H.W. Andersen Products, Ltd. In the UK
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, industry organizations, local and regional government resources (Alamance Chamber of Commerce, NC Biotech, local, state and federal government officials and their offices; Alamance Community College
· Support all facets of lead generation and sales efforts
· Conduct general market research to stay on top of market trends and competitor marketing tactics
· Create and implement overall integrated marketing strategy with website (sterility.com) serving as the funnel to convert leads
· Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills:
· Excellent leadership and organizational skills
· Analytical and creative thinking
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Web Trends, Lead Forensics, etc.) and Google Ads
· Aptitude with a customer-oriented business approach
· Proven experience as contributing key member of corporate leadership team
· BSc/BA in business administration, marketing and communications or relevant field, or commiserate experience required
