Listed as a National and Local Best Place to Work, Bowers + Kubota Consulting is seeking a motivated, reliable, experienced Electrical Engineer in the Construction Industry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering design (preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of building projects, including renovation/new design for hospitals, office buildings, warehouses, schools, etc. for private, commercial, military and government agencies) required
• Experience shall include designing lighting, electrical (high voltage and low voltage) and fire alarm systems
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Fire Code (NFPA 1)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience using AutoCAD software required
• Experience in telecommunication system, access control system and SCADA design preferred
• Field knowledge of electrical construction preferred
• Professional License in Electrical Engineering required
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam
• High attention to detail and accuracy required
• Must possess strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required; ability to interface well and work effectively in a team environment

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare permit ready electrical construction drawings including:

o Site power, telecom, and fire alarm distribution; Building power, telecom, and fire alarm distribution; Building power, lighting, fire alarm and telecom plans; Electrical one-line diagrams; Fire alarm and telecom system riser diagrams; and Lighting control system diagrams

• Prepare Book specifications (in various formats)
• Prepare Lighting energy calculations for IECC conformance
• Prepare Construction cost estimates based on RS Means
• Attend virtual meetings with clients
• Address permitting comments
• Review Contractor submittals, requests for information and change orders
• Review in-house electrical designs for quality control
• Perform other duties as assigned

LOCATION: Remote. Work hours are between 8am – 4pm HST.
