Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is proud to be recruiting for an Electrical Test Technician for our client in Binghamton, New York. This position will direct and coordinates the workflow in different areas throughout the manufacturing department. The Electrical Testing Technician will run and maintain equipment, monitor, and check product quality and document results to follow established processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate appropriate warranty and field data of each product.
• Sets the tone for information transformation between engineering department and RMA department on the path to diagnosing and repairing products, or new product coming off the assembly line to ensure a high level of quality for each build and repair.
• Troubleshoots and testing parts and assemblies to company specification.
• Performs various mechanical and electronic production functions by assembling, adjusting, and repairing, equipment to company standards and conducts the inspection of in-process or finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical testing to accurately analyze failure cause of equipment and record failure analysis data in the warranty database.
• Documents activities by completing production and quality forms, as well as failure analysis according to established policies and procedures.
• Ability to interpret blueprint specifications, bills of materials, ensuring the correct assembly instructions, and parts lists; tools, materials are established within standard operating procedures as defined in existing company policies and procedures before job commencement.
• Able to replace electrical or electronic components as according to the design need/change and work instructions.
• Ensure customer returns are processed in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedure, rules, and regulation.
• Communicate with various staff members, interdepartmentally, at a technical level, both orally and written, building strong relationships.

Requirements

• Electrical associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.
• Read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
• Ability to collect data, create, compose, and edit written material and report.
• Multi-disciplined with experience working in Manufacturing environment with controls and instrumentation, where safety is of utmost concern.
• Ability to focus on the details of the work requirement to fulfill the requested work in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to troubleshoot using electric and mechanical test equipment – ie: DVM, O-scope, and mechanical measurement tools.
• Demonstrated experience doing precision assembly, capable of performing consistent high-quality work and detail oriented.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to process computer data and format and generate reports.
