Job Opening: Entry Level Data Analyst

Responsible to: National Sales Manager

Compensation: Hourly, Commensurate to Skills and Experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Location: Redding, CA

Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of on-farm, waste-to-energy systems on the west coast. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas powered renewable energy generation systems on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable compressed natural gas upgrading.

Position Description:

Maas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking a self-motivated, organized person who enjoys working in excel to join the Producer Relations team. The position requires someone willing to develop a high level of excel knowledge that will be used to turn large historical and operational data sets into insightful information in the form of proformas, graphs, and quantitative tables. The Data Analyst will work with members in the Producer Relations department to update and develop spreadsheets to model financial, biogas, and carbon intensity projections. This role will also require working with and supporting different departments in the company to ensure that the financial, biogas, and carbon intensity modeling is accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate will have a high level of interest in excel, be very detailed oriented, be a quick learner, demonstrate effective data visualization skills, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Update, maintain, and develop existing excel models and data sets
• Compile, analyze, and visualize large data sets
• Troubleshoot existing excel models to find ways to improve functionality, find errors, and reduce file size
• Assist Producer Relations team members with constructing and updating project proformas
• Assist other MEW departments with maintaining and updating excel models and forecasts
• Coordinate with other MEW departments to maintain a database of detailed manure management practices at each applicable farm project
• Collaborate with other MEW departments to ensure that data is being accurately represented in existing excel models
• Collaborate with other MEW departments to track changes in operational and budget expenses, and update excel models to reflect these changes
• Assess and improve existing systems and models to optimize the end use of analyzed data
• Test existing models against historical data sets to ensure accuracy in existing model

Qualifications & Skills:

• High level of interest in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
• High level written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field, Mathematics, or Statistics, a Master’s degree is a plus
• Must be proficient in English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
