Executive Chef

The individual selected for the role of Executive Chef will be employed by The Northview Group, and will have no affiliation with Columbia Hospitality, who is serving as a third-party agent leading the search through Columbia Executive Search.

Position Summary: The Executive Chef will oversee culinary operations of multiple outlets. This role is expected to create a delicious and creative menu that highlights regional ingredients. This role must master several styles of dining including, but not limited to: banquets, buffets, plated, and in room dining.
Qualification Standards

Education & Experience:
  • 5+ Years of Hotel Restaurant leadership experience (Exec. Sous and higher)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Additional Culinary education preferred-or 10 years of Hotel Restaurant experience equivalent.
  • Banquet experience
  • Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/In Room dining offerings
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift 50lbs+ as necessary
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Move freely without assistance
Skill Requirements:
  • Flexible scheduling according to business and departmental needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.
  • Appropriate culinary skills for this position level
  • Ability to effectively lead a team.
  • Ability to schedule staff efficiently.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adherence to all necessary state/federal food service guidelines
Duties & Functions

  • Manage culinary operations including leading by example in meal preparations
  • Menu preparation and design
  • Provide an amazing culinary experience to all guests
  • Manage daily food provision for hotel staff
  • Train and develop culinary staff, managing performance through coaching and progressive discipline
  • Work with hotel leadership to provide a cohesive employee and guest experience between all departments
  • Manage the fiscal responsibility of the department including monitoring budget, inventory and kitchen costs
  • Provide culinary reporting as needed
  • Encourage strong team work and professional interactions
  • Ensure all necessary safety measures are in place
  • Practice efficient scheduling according to forecasted staffing plans
  • Ensure all kitchen areas and surfaces (walk ins, pantries, shelving etc) are clean and well stocked
